丸モ高木陶器は、陶磁器の一大中心地である岐阜県美濃市にあります。多治見市と土岐市に囲まれたこの地域は、1300年前から陶磁器の産地として知られており、美濃市は、1300年前から様々なスタイルの陶磁器が生み出されてきました。
特に16世紀に茶の湯が盛んになると、多くの大名が美濃の窯元を訪れ、茶の湯を楽しむようになりました。その後も美濃は日本の陶磁器生産の中心であり続けています。現在、美濃の町は焼き物の町として知られ、多くの観光客が窯元や工房を訪れます。
