Description
Arita ware created using the sometsuke technique is made by first painting a pattern on a bisque-fired, unglazed piece with a pigment from roasted cobalt ore, applying a transparent glaze over it, then firing it again to beautifully bring out the vivid blue.
This “Dyed Plum Bird Pattern” with blue-and-white style on a white background is designed with Imari style. The flowers and birds are painted only in blue with the expressive use of strokes and shades. The traditional dyed plum bird pattern is designed with a bird in the center surrounded by three plum branches with plum blossoms. Depicting the change of seasons from winter to spring, it expresses hope after a dark and gloomy winter.
We recommend this as a present to celebrate the important moments in your life.
