Description
The front side is red and the back is black, making it reversible for various looks.
This refined folding fan is made of carefully selected Shimane madake bamboo and washi from Tosa(Kochi).
The fan paper is painstakingly coated with layers of "Kakishibu", persimmon tannin, a natural coating used in the Heian period (794-1185). Its elegant luster deepens as it is used.
The bamboo shaft is decorated with a checkered pattern, which is said to signify eternity, development, and prosperity.
