Description
From preparing the clay to drawing up a plan, to forming, drying, and kiln firing, oni-shi craftsmen put their souls into their work.
This powerful three-sided interior onigawara was designed and crafted by oni-shi craftsman, Takashi Hagiwara. The motif of the "three-sided devil's face", which is rare among onigawara, was chosen "to protect the family from disasters coming from various directions." The forehead is decorated with a peony, which is considered the highest dignity among flowers. The right demon is decorated with the emblem of the sun to represent "yang" and the left demon with the emblem of the moon to represent "yin.
We hope that you and your family will be protected from catastrophes and bad luck.
