Description

MATSUKAN Takanori Matsumoto
Takanori Matsumoto

These chopsticks are made by the Wakasa lacquer chopsticks brand, a traditional craft with over 400 years of history. While preserving the traditional chopstick-making techniques, craftsmen carefully craft each one.

Chopsticks come in a variety of shapes, including round, square, hexagonal, and octagonal. As the number eight indicates, the octagon is considered to be auspicious because it spreads out at the end. In feng shui, it is said that the octagon attracts happiness from all directions and wards off evil spirits.

The chopsticks are made of ebony, a fine wood used in furniture and crafts. Ebony is very hard and durable, with semi-permanent durability, fine texture, and a unique luster, and is said to be the highest quality wood.

The pair of chopsticks comes with a Hasami ware chopstick rest. Hasami ware is a ceramic ware with a proud tradition of over 400 years made in Hasami Town, Nagasaki Prefecture.

A simple and elegant chopstick rest that gently supports the red and black pair of chopsticks. The chic brown color and the texture of the earth are full of warmth. The chopstick rests are not too bold, but they fit perfectly when they are there, which is something you can only get from high-quality pottery.

Because they are something you pick up and put in your mouth every day, they are made by craftsmen using only natural materials and carefully crafting each one.

The painted chopsticks are painted evenly and carefully many times, making them smooth to the touch and a masterpiece that you will want to continue using carefully.

Chopsticks are considered to be auspicious gifts in Japan. For that reason, they are also used as wedding gifts to pray for long life and lasting happiness.

They are the perfect gift for someone special.
