This large bowl is handcrafted by artisans who have inherited the traditional Edo faceting technique.
The bright gold-red cased crystal glass is decorated with a "yarai" pattern, meaning a hedge to protect against arrows, in layers of "yarai-gasane".
This pattern is meant to ward off evil and evil spirits and to symbolize a strong protection, bringing a sense of quiet strength and dignity to the space.
The cool and refreshing blue color of the bowl brings a cool breeze to the summer table and enhances the beauty of dishes such as somen noodles and cold vegetables.
It is a perfect gift for the season, as well as for important milestones such as wedding, housewarming, and longevity celebrations.
