Taito Ward is located in the northeastern part of Tokyo's 23 wards and is the smallest ward among them.
Within this small ward, various buildings and parks such as tourist attractions, residences, companies, and universities are scattered throughout.
As a tourist town thriving since the Edo period, it boasts the two major entertainment districts of Ueno and Asakusa. Even today, Taito Ward remains a familiar tourist destination, featuring Ueno Park and Ameya Yokocho, a large shopping street centered around fresh produce.
Beyond its tourist appeal, it is also known for its long-established residential areas and historical character. The Yanaka district has been selected as one of the "100 Beautiful Historical Landscapes of Japan."
The eastern part of the ward borders the Sumida River, forming the boundary with Sumida Ward on the opposite bank. Parks and green spaces are found throughout the ward, and cherry trees line not only the banks of the Sumida River but also streets across the entire district, making it an area with a rich natural environment.

In an era of scarce materials and disrupted distribution, Kobayashi handled wholesale celluloid and synthetic resin materials.
By selecting materials and shapes according to customer requests, he steadily built small but solid relationships.
His belief, "Assess material quality and prioritize ingenuity for ease of use," was established during this time.
In 1952, the business incorporated as Kobayashi Shoten Co., Ltd.
In 1958, the company began manufacturing its proprietary product "Kobazol," expanding into the toy and industrial goods sectors. Subsequently, it broadened its operations into packaging and containers, as well as new product development.
Eventually, it grew into a comprehensive manufacturer guided by the philosophy of "What can we add to plastic?" From this emerged the new brand "cococica," whose mission is to deliver "things found only here." It proposes daily necessities with a focus on materials and design.
While embracing modern living, it weaves a "beautiful and thoughtful everyday life" that resonates with traditional craftsmanship.
