History
Birthplace of Japan's first towel since the Edo period
Founded in 1926 in Izumisano, Osaka, Fukuroya Towel has deep roots in Senshu, a region known for cotton cultivation since the Edo period.
The first Japanese towels were made here in 1887 by Satoi Enjiro.
Senshu towels became famous for their softness, warmth, and breathability, earning them the nickname "Manchester of the East."
Fukuroya Towel has been making towels with passion and sincerity since its founding by the first Tsunekichi.
Passed down through five generations, Fukuroya Towel has always prioritized quality and innovation.
From the expansion of the business by the second Seijiro, to the bag weaving techniques of the third Seiichiro, to the rapid delivery system of the fourth Noboru, each generation has contributed to the legacy.
Today, Kenji continues the tradition, adapting to modern needs while maintaining the company's spirit of excellence.
Characteristic
High-quality, environmentally friendly natural towels
Senshu towels, since 1887, have stood out for their unique post-bleaching process, ensuring clean, safe, and absorbent towels.
This method removes impurities from the cotton, enhancing softness and color vibrancy.
Fukurodani Towel now embraces sustainability by using dyes from Osaka's wine and beer lees and misfit vegetables, minimizing environmental impact. These eco-friendly towels, made in collaboration with local producers, were even showcased at the G20.
